Institutional Distinctiveness

The management of SVCE has instituted two distinguished awards: the Best Teacher Award (BTA) and the Lifetime Achievement Award (LTAA). These honors are designed to recognize outstanding performance in their respective domains, celebrating individuals who have made exceptional contributions to education and society at large.

Eligibility

Both the awards are Open to Indian citizens of any gender, race, caste, creed, religion, or state. In the case of BTA, candidates must be qualified teachers currently employed in an educational institution in India, and not retired. In case of LTA, no educational qualification is required. For both awards, the recipients shall have no pending criminal cases during the application and award presentation process.

Processing of the Applications

SVCE has established a rigorous and transparent process for both awards. Applications,along with supporting documents, are accepted annually, either through self-nomination or third-party recommendation.The selection process involves multiple stages of scrutiny. The Chairman constitutes a three-member committee for each award. These committees meticulously examine the applications and nominations before making their recommendations to the Chairman. The Chairman retains power to accept or reject any or all recommendations without assigning any reasons thereof.

Composition of the Committee

• The committee shall be led by a Senior Academician, not affiliated with SVCE, who is either currently employed or retired and holds a designation such as Vice Chancellor, Professor, Dean, Director, Principal, or Head Master. He / She serves as the Chairman of the Committee.
• A Senior Teacher from a school, acting as a Subject Expert (Best Teacher Award) / A Social Worker, Industrialist, Entrepreneur, or Farmer, serving as an Outside Expert (Lifetime Achievement Award)
• A teacher from SVCE with a strong academic background, serving as the Committee Secretary

Both committees maintain gender diversity by ensuring at least one female member, with a quorum of two required for meetings.

Presentation of the Awards

Both awards will be presented to the recipients, typically by an esteemed Chief Guest, during a ceremony organized by SVCE, either on or off campus. The recipients will receive a cash prize, a citation, and a certificate.

The Best Teacher Award has not only acknowledged the hard work and commitment of educators but has also served as a catalyst for motivating other teachers to strive for excellence. The Lifetime Achievement Award, on the other hand, has recognized individuals whose sustained dedication and exceptional accomplishments have left an indelible mark on their profession and society.
